- Enhanced Recovery After Cesarean Section (ERACS) Cesarean delivery now offers faster recovery and minimal pain with the ERACS method. Compared to conventional cesarean sections, ERACS is designed to enhance comfort for mothers before and after childbirth.

Our obstetrician team uses the latest cesarean techniques, which have proven benefits, such as:

d. Smaller doses of anesthetic drugs

e. Lower risk of complications such as surgical site infections, adhesions, and hernias

Postpartum care with the ERACS method aims to facilitate early breastfeeding initiation, making long-term breastfeeding more successful.

ERACS is a comprehensive service involving hospital management, obstetricians, anesthesiologists, pediatricians, and clinical nutritionists. Tzu Chi Hospital has implemented the ERACS method for patients undergoing cesarean delivery.

 

- Painless delivery with ILA Method

A solution for a more comfortable vaginal delivery with minimal pain during contractions. The ILA (Intrathecal Labour Analgesia) method involves injecting pain relief medication into the spine during the active phase of labor to reduce pain.

Advantages of the ILA method for vaginal delivery include:

a. Reducing pain during the active phase of labor

b. Helping the mother conserve more energy for pushing when the cervix is fully dilated

c. Making the normal delivery experience more comfortable

 

- Antenatal care

- Childbirth Preparation Classes:

Prenatal Gentle Yoga

Physical changes and discomfort in early pregnancy can be managed with Prenatal Gentle Yoga, which is a combination of pregnancy exercise and antenatal yoga involving breathing exercises, positions, meditation, and relaxation. Prenatal Gentle Yoga can also help in mental and spiritual preparation for a smooth pregnancy and delivery.

 

- Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT)

A screening test to detect chromosomal abnormalities in an unborn baby. NIPT can identify the risk of down syndrome and other chromosomal disorders.

 

- Amniocentesis

A prenatal test used to diagnose genetic abnormalities in the fetus by taking a sample of amniotic fluid.

- Thin Prep Pap Test + HPV Testing (Co-testing Pap Smear)

A method for detecting cervical cancer by sampling tissue from the cervix. Tzu Chi Hospital also offers co-testing with both a pap smear and HPV test for more accurate results for up to 5 years.

 

- Hysteroscopy

A medical procedure to examine the condition of the uterus and cervix and to treat abnormalities found, such as removing endometrial polyps.

 

- Gynecologic Oncology:

a. Biopsy: A procedure for taking a tissue sample to detect abnormalities or diseases.

b. 3D Laparoscopy: A minimally invasive surgical procedure using a laparoscope, which is a small telescopic instrument equipped with a camera at the end.

- Robotic Laparoscopy

A medical support tool used for minimally invasive surgery with the assistance of a robot controlled by a surgeon. It is equipped with a 3D camera, providing accurate images.

- Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

An intensive care unit specifically for newborns aged 0-28 days who have health issues or were born prematurely. It is equipped with adequate facilities and staffed with nurses and doctors available 24/7.
