Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab)

Tzu Chi Hospital offers a high-tech Cath Lab service designed to detect narrowing or blockages in the blood vessels leading to the heart and brain.

 

There are three (3) Cath Lab rooms equipped with GE Innova IGS 530 machines and one (1) advanced Cath Lab facility featuring the ARTIS Pheno Robotic C-arm within a hybrid operating room.

 

Medical Technologies:

- Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS)

A diagnostic technique that uses ultrasonic waves to view conditions inside blood vessels.

- Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR)

A measurement tool using a wire equipped with a pressure sensor to measure blood pressure before and after a narrowing.

- Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)

An intracoronary imaging technique that uses light to produce high-resolution images of the inside of blood vessels, aimed at detecting plaque buildup or blockages.

- Rotablator

A rotating device to remove the plaque in the arteries.
