Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Theranostics

Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Theranostics Clinic at Tzu Chi Hospital provides therapy and diagnostic services utilizing radioactive substances as open radiation sources (radiopharmaceuticals) for a range of malignancies and non-malignant conditions.

Medical Technologies

Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT)

A nuclear imaging technology that combines gamma camera and computed tomography (CT) scanning to provide information about organ function in three-dimensional (3D) images. SPECT detects radioactive substances administered to the body.

SPECT is used to diagnose conditions such as:

a. Cancer metastasis

b. Parkinson's disease

c. Dementia

d. Thyroid scans

e. Lymph node obstruction

Digital Positron Emission Tomography - Computed Tomography (Digital PET/CT)

A nuclear technology that uses positron emission tomography and computed tomography to observe cellular metabolic activity by introducing radioactive substances into the body. Digital PET/CT can be used for early cancer detection, diagnosing malignancies, and evaluating diseases.
