Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Tzu Chi Hospital provides NICU services as a special care unit for newborns who require more intensive care and monitoring, supported by experienced medical personnel and comprehensive medical facilities to ensure safe and optimal care for both babies and mothers.

 

We understand that when a baby is admitted to the NICU, mothers and families often feel anxious about being separated from their babies. Therefore, Tzu Chi Hospital's NICU implements a family-centered care approach, which actively involves the family to ensure the baby remains close and comfortable with their parents. • Opportunities for parents to accompany their babies without visiting hours restrictions
• Facilities for parents to accompany their babies 24/7
• Full access for parents to touch, hold, and breastfeed
• Parental involvement in care routines (bathing, breastfeeding, bonding time)
• Education and support so parents can go home equipped with the skills to care for their babies according to their needs, such as breastfeeding directly or using a feeding tube (NGT), as well as 24/7 communication support with the NICU team.
